Steve Wright
Steve Wright began his work on science and technology policy, after taking a BSc at the University of Manchester in 1975. He went on to study for a PhD at the University of Lancaster's Richardson Institute for Peace Studies with a thesis on New Police Technology and Sub-State Conflict Control. This work was interrupted by a Special Branch police raid in 1977 after Wright uncovered the embryonic telephone tapping system which ran microwave towers from near the university all the way to the NSA's biggest satellite interceptions installation at Menwith Hill.
